Description
A delightful fall treat with moist texture and sweet apple chunks, perfect for breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chopped apples (Pink Lady, Gala, Honeycrisp – peeled and chopped)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and flour an 8 x 5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and granulated sugar together until well combined.
- Stir in melted butter and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just combined; the batter will be thick.
- Gently fold in the chopped apples.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle about three-quarters of the brown sugar mixture over the batter.
- Spread the remaining batter on top of the sugar mixture. Sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon sugar over the top and gently swirl into the batter.
- Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
Best served warm or at room temperature. Pairs well with butter, tea, or coffee.
