Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk (or almond milk)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (pink, red, or choice for decorating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a brain-shaped cake pan (or a round cake pan).
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  6. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Once cooled, frost the cake with your choice of icing and use food coloring to create a pink or red frosting.
  12. Pipe additional frosting for veins and details if desired.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. You can experiment with food coloring for a unique look.
