Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1.5 cups granulated sugar
- 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk (or almond milk)
- 3 large eggs
- 2.5 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring (pink, red, or choice for decorating)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a brain-shaped cake pan (or a round cake pan).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
