A delightful dessert that combines the comforting essence of cinnamon rolls with the sweet and tart flavor of apples.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup apples, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour (for mixture with cinnamon)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, ensuring they are well incorporated. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chopped apples, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Prepare the cinnamon swirl: In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar with the tablespoon of flour and ground cinnamon.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle the cinnamon swirl mixture over the batter, then pour the remaining batter on top.
- Swirl the batter with a knife or toothpick to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool before serving.
