A delightful pasta dish that features shrimp in a creamy Cajun sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
- 8 oz pasta (fettuccine or linguine)
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup bell peppers, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and sprinkle with Cajun seasoning. Cook until shrimp are pink, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add garlic and bell peppers; sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in the heavy cream and let simmer until slightly thickened.
- Add the cooked pasta and shrimp back to the skillet, tossing to combine. Season with salt and pepper.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, add some minced onions when sautéing the garlic and bell peppers. For a spicy kick, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes or using a spicier Cajun seasoning.
