Description

A scrumptious blend of soft, fluffy dough, sweet apples, and warmly spiced cinnamon, perfect for brunch or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Whisk until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Stir to combine.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in the diced apples until evenly distributed.
  6. On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle, about 1/2-inch thick.
  7. In a small bowl, mix cinnamon and brown sugar, then sprinkle over the rolled dough.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log and pinch edges to seal.
  9. Cut the log into 12 to 15 equal pieces.
  10. Place buns cut-side up in a greased baking dish and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden.
  11. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving, optionally drizzled with glaze.
