A fun and spooky twist on classic Rice Krispie Treats, perfect for Halloween and other festive occasions.
Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 10 ounces mini marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 drop green food coloring
- 1 package black icing or melted chocolate
- 1 cup candy eyes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon edible glitter (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat. Add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat and add green food coloring, mix until desired shade is reached.
- Add the Rice Krispies cereal to the pot and stir gently until well coated.
- Press the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch pan, using a spatula or wax paper to flatten it. Allow to cool completely.
- Once cooled, remove treats from the pan and cut into squares or rectangles.
- Decorate with black icing or melted chocolate to create “Frankenstein” faces, add candy eyes, and sprinkle with edible glitter.
Notes
Store leftover treats in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 to 5 days. Avoid refrigeration to maintain chewy texture.
