A delightful fusion of textures and flavors, blending chewy kunafa with rich, fudgy brownies.
Ingredients
- 1 package kunafa (shredded phyllo dough)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup crushed pistachios
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the kunafa and melted butter, mixing well. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In another bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until combined. Stir in chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour the brownie batter over the pressed kunafa, spreading it evenly. Top with the remaining kunafa mixture, pressing gently.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean. Allow to cool completely before slicing.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
