Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ cup buttermilk
- ¼ cup salted caramel sauce

- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons salted caramel sauce (for frosting)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- Pinch of salt (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together.
- Cream together the softened butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the granulated sugar, beating until smooth and well combined.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, fully incorporating each before adding the next.
- Stir in the vanilla extract until the batter is smooth.
- Add half of the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Pour in the buttermilk and continue mixing until smooth. Add the remaining flour mixture and mix until fully incorporated.
- Drizzle in ¼ cup of salted caramel sauce and gently fold it in, creating a marbled effect.
- Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center.
- Allow the cupcakes to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and beat until fluffy.
- Mix in the salted caramel sauce and vanilla extract, adding a pinch of salt to enhance flavor.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes generously with the salted caramel cream cheese frosting. Drizzle additional salted caramel sauce over the frosted cupcakes.
