Description

Delightful and customizable cake pops inspired by Starbucks, perfect for parties and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 box (13.25 oz) vanilla cake mix
  • ⅓ cup neutral oil (vegetable, avocado, canola, etc.)
  • 1 cup milk or water
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp milk (add more if needed)
  • 12 oz candy melts
  • White nonpareils or sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325-350℉ (162-175℃).
  2. In a large bowl, mix all cake ingredients and pour batter into a prepared pan.
  3. Bake until a toothpick comes out clean, then transfer the cake to a mixing bowl to crumble.
  4. Make buttercream by mixing powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, salt, and milk.
  5. Combine crumbled cake with buttercream until well blended.
  6. Roll mixture into 1¼-inch balls and freeze for 15 minutes.
  7. Melt a small portion of candy melts; dip lollipop sticks into the melted candy and insert into the cake balls.
  8. Freeze cake balls again for 15 minutes.
  9. Dip each cake pop into melted candy, let excess drip off, and quickly decorate with sprinkles.
  10. Place pops upright in a styrofoam block until the coating sets.

Notes

Ensure the cake is fully cooled before crumbling. Do not skip chilling steps to maintain the shape of cake pops.
