Description

A delightful fusion of traditional churros and fluffy donuts, these bite-sized treats are perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain flour (300g)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (75g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/3 cups milk (320ml)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled (120g)
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted (for the churro topping)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (120g)
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon spice
  • 1/2 cup chopped chocolate (90g, for the chocolate drizzle)
  • 2 tablespoons cream


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini donut pan lightly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the plain flour, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the milk, vanilla essence, and melted butter until smooth.
  4. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fill each donut pan cavity about three-quarters full with the batter.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow the donut bites to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. In a shallow bowl, combine the remaining sugar and cinnamon for the churro topping.
  9. Melt the 1/4 cup butter in a microwave-safe bowl, dip each cooled donut in it, and roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  10. Melt the chopped chocolate, and mix in the cream until smooth for the drizzle.
  11. Drizzle the chocolate mixture over the churro donut bites before serving.

Notes

For best results, measure ingredients accurately and allow donuts to cool completely before coating. Feel free to customize with other toppings.
